Stone Bound comes out today!

That’s right. Stone Bound, book 1 of my new fantasy series, Chaos and Retribution, just released today. Want more good news? It’s only 99 cents for a limited time. So there’s really no reason not to go pick up a copy, is there?

And, in case you’re thinking, ‘Yeah, but how many years will it be before book 2 comes out?’ I want you to know that book 2, Sky Touched, is coming out in August. And book 3, Sea Born, is coming out in September. There’s even plans for a fourth book in December.

I did it! 350 pages in 6 weeks

It’s true. I just finished the rough draft of the second book in my epic fantasy series, Sky Touched. Which I only started six weeks ago.

Whew! That was a lot of work. Now, I still have to edit it and revise it, but the heavy lifting is done. It’s the fastest I’ve ever written a book of this length.

Now I need a break. The following picture will be me at the end of the day, once my wonderful wife gets home:

Here’s the blurb about the series:

Three children with the powers of Stone, Sea and Sky…

Are all that stands between the world and the chaotic power of the Abyss.

Fen is only a boy when his city is sacked by enemy invaders. His mother is cut down before his eyes. Yet somehow when the blade is turned on him, he survives without a scratch. But the attack seems to have awakened something inside him, something that killed his father years ago.

Aislin came from the sea, her origins a mystery. Within her is an innate power over water, as natural as breathing. But she lives in a world of her own, emotionally isolated from everyone else, including the woman who is raising her. Bullied by the other children, one day she turns her power on them.

Karliss was touched by the wind at birth, destined to be the greatest wind shaman his people have ever seen. But he is careless with his power and he ignores the warnings about the madness that afflicts those who don’t protect themselves against the spirits in the wind.

When the powerful, inhuman denizens of the Abyss reach out to take the world, only these three have a chance of stopping them, but only if they can learn to master their powers in time…

Click on picture to see my other books on Amazon

So I have this new book going on pre-order on Amazon in a few days and I was thinking that maybe some of you out there would like to see a few chapters of it ahead of time. You know, see if you like it. It’s called Stone Bound and it’s epic fantasy. It will be on sale in mid-July. Book 2 will come out in August and Book 3 in September, so buckle up!

Prologue: Fen

The man stumbled unseeing down the cobblestone street. The pains were worse today, the worst they’d ever been. Every step was agony. His bones were on fire. His joints felt like they were full of glass. His greatest fear was not that he would die—he’d long since accepted the inevitability of that—but that he would not be able to make it home. If he was going to die today, he wanted only to see his wife and son one last time. Continue reading “Who wants to read some preview chapters of the new book?”

Happy Friday and here’s a new book!

Ace Lone Wolf and the Black Pearl Treasure is now on sale!

It’s true. The third installment in the Lone Wolf Howls series is now on sale. Best of all, for a limited time you can purchase it for 99 cents!

Folks, that’s 3 books in 3 months, if you’re counting. Which makes this not like George RR Martin at all! There’s even a fourth book coming, though you’ll have to wait until fall for it. (I’m busy knocking out the first three books in my new Chaos and Retribution epic fantasy series, which will come out in the next three months.)

What’s the new book about? Read on…

Ace Lone Wolf, a half-Apache gunslinger with a penchant for trouble, knows from experience that chasing lost treasure never leads to anything but misery. Yet somehow he lets himself get talked into helping an old mountain man search for a wrecked Spanish galleon that legend has it is carrying a fortune in black pearls.

Before he knows it, Ace is up to his neck in trouble once again. The notorious outlaws Frank and Jesse James want his head. The US Cavalry is hot on his trail. A murderous doctor wants his scalp for his collection. Some days it feels like everyone is shooting at him.

But none of those problems compare to what he finds once he actually makes it to the treasure ship and learns what is guarding it…

Part Indiana Jones, part Pirates of the Caribbean, The Black Pearl Treasure is a fast-paced, action-packed adventure with humor and drama enough to please readers of all ages, from young adults on up.

All work and no play makes…for killer fantasy?

The new cover!

I realize I’ve been rather quiet for the past few weeks. No, I haven’t been sick. I didn’t fall down a well or get abducted by a clown. I’ve simply been busy.

Like, 20k words per week busy. I’ve got a new fantasy series (Chaos and Retribution. It’s the sequel to my other fantasy series, Immortality and Chaos. Or maybe I&C is the prequel to C&R. I’m not clear on this.) that I’m releasing this summer. Book 1, Stone Bound, will drop in mid-July sometime and books 2 and 3 in August and September. (A fourth Ace book and a fourth book in this series will come out in the fall sometime.)

Is 20k words per week a lot, you ask? Well, it’s enough that I can turn out a standard 350 or so page book in six weeks, if that answers your question. It feels like a lot to me.

Anyway, book 1 is done. The rough draft of book 2 will be finished next week. Then I’ll take a week off and dive into book 3. And I haven’t gone crazy yet (meaning I don’t have drinks with bartenders that aren’t there and I haven’t chopped any doors down in my house) so that’s a definite plus.

(PS If you’re interested in my first fantasy series, you can go get a free copy of book 1 here. All you need to do is sign up for my email list. I promise not to bug you if you do. Much.)

Sneak peek at my upcoming fantasy series, Chaos and Retribution

Three children with the power of the three Spheres of Stone, Sea and Sky. All that stand between the world and the Abyss.

The buildings on this street were built of stone, four or more stories tall and jammed tightly together. This late in the day the street was completely in the shade. Horse-drawn carts moved down the middle of the street. Along the edges hurried people on foot, none of them paying any attention to the man. To the casual observer he was merely another drunk, and drunks were not uncommon in this part of the city.

A new wave of pain hit the man and he staggered, bumping into a woman who was carrying a large basket filled with loaves of bread. “Watch where you’re going!” she snapped at him.

Falling, the man instinctively put out his hand to catch himself. When his hand made contact with the wall of one of the buildings there was a cracking sound and the stone split suddenly. The concussion knocked the man back and he fell down. Continue reading “Sneak peek at my upcoming fantasy series, Chaos and Retribution”

It’s like Indiana Jones crossed with The Magnificent Seven

Yes, there’s a gunfight.

Good news, everybody! I have a new book out today. At least, it’s good news if you like Action/Adventure stories mixed with a healthy dose of humor. (Warning: If you prefer dull books where nothing happens and the characters speak in a monotone, this book isn’t for you.)

The best way to describe the latest adventures of Ace, the half-Apache gunslinger with a quick draw and a penchant for getting into trouble, is to think of it as a cross between Indian Jones and The Magnificent Seven. We have a swashbuckling hero, a town threatened by an evil land baron, and a feisty heroine with green eyes a man could drown in.

Throw in a crusty, one-eyed mule skinner who’s handy with a bullwhip and a gang of quirky outlaws, and what you have is a fast-paced, action-packed adventure with more than a few laughs and enough drama to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Best of all, Ace Lone Wolf and the One-Eyed Mule Skinner is on sale. For a limited time you can buy Ace’s latest adventures for a mere 99 cents, marked down from the regular price of $3.99.

Happy reading!
Eric

PS Ace’s first adventure, The Lost Temple of Totec, continues to rise up the charts and his third adventure, The Black Pearl Treasure, is now available for pre-order. (Note: the books in this series do not have to be read in order.)
